UniFiCT is a consulting company started by Jonathan Davis, located in New Britain, CT. 

 

Jonathan left the U.S. Airforce in 1987 and started his first company that year. The company DSI Marketing grew over the next 15 years into a Graphics Consulting and Technology company providing computers, printers, networks, training and support services to companies involved in the early days of computer graphic design. His clients were corporate art departments, printing companies, as well as magazine and newspaper publishers throughout the New England area.

 

With the advent of the Internet, Jon added on website publishing services and in 2001 merged that part of the business with a company in Prospect, CT, where Jon spent 5 years as the Director of Business Development.

 

Fast forward a number of years and Jon and his wife Jody started a non-profit for women who struggle with addiction to drugs and alcohol. Their organization, Coram Deo Recovery, provided housing for women out of treatment programs or direct from incarceration. Over the past 18 years, this program has grown to 5 multi family homes in the New Britain area which serve over 60 women at a time. 

 

Jon continued to work full time outside of the non-profit arena and became a partner in Perfect Fit Placement in Berlin CT, which provides executive recruiting services to companies nationwide. He has recently pulled back from day to day management of the company after 14 years. 

 

Jon has always been involved in the IT side of things or provided IT support services throughout much of his career as well as building an automated house that his wife, Jody, loves to hate. 

 

Approximately 7 years ago he started working with the Unifi line of remotely controlled networking and WiFi equipment, by Ubiquiti. In his role as chief volunteer at Coram Deo, it was very important that he could maintain the technology for the whole organization while still doing his regular job 9-5. Unifi provided that nicely integrated solution with “one pane of glass” to manage all the devices on the network. Over the past few years, the tools from Unifi have become even more elegant and the product line more powerful. 

 

He has rolled out the solutions for friends and family, and both for Coram Deo as well as for Perfect Fit. At Coram Deo, he has integrated a fully integrated suite of products from Unifi to include their networking and WiFi, Cameras (Protect), Access Control (Access) and VOIP Phone System (Talk). In fact, over the past year, he has been rolling out a $250K rollout to Coram Deo through State Security Grant monies to bring a higher level of security and surveillance to all the properties at the organization. 

 

Jon has developed a deep network of professionals that help support him through the many projects that he engages with. He can call on experts to supplement his lack of experience or his lack of resources as needed.
