Our experience implementing UniFi runs the gamut: Small businesses, non-profits, churches, camps, hotels or homes

Industries
The UniFi product line from Ubiquiti is used across so many industries, it is hard to name them all and each industry has its own challenges. Within the Connecticut and even New England, UniFiCT can provide expert consulting services to help your organization implement a robust UniFi solution, or just support your own internal team as their needs require. Here are a few of the industries we support:
Small Businesses
Almost every small business utilizes some level of computer system and networking equipment. And most small businesses do not have the resources to manage their own network architecture. This leads to security breaches, theft, and unwanted downtime.
UniFiCT can step into that gap to affordably and efficiently bring your network into the modern world. Whether that is just a new firewall/router and some WiFi access points or if you need to add a few cameras and simple access control to your doors.
Medium Sized Businesses
As a company grows out of their small business moniker, expands their employee base and maybe adds on new locations or extensive remote offices, the needs of company for a robust IT infrastructure grows with it. Usually at this time the company hires an IT Manager, but this one person is responsible for everything IT and is not a master of anything.
The UniFi product line is focused around remotely managed solutions, which allow the IT Manager to handle problems 24 hours per
day right from their phone or laptop, no matter where they are.
UniFiCT will supplement the needs of the IT Manager for new installations, ongoing support or to just help "harden" the system.
Enterprise Businesses
Most enterprise level business work with a robust IT staff as well as work with products that are well known for their capabilities and robustness within the enterprise IT space. However, UniFi has more recently started to dabble in this space. In many cases, an enterprise business can purchase TWO of a similar UniFi product to what they spend now on just the yearly licensing of their own equipment AND UniFi has no yearly licensing fee. This means that by year two of a UniFi purchase, the organization is saving a lot of money within their IT budget.
While the UniFiCT team are not experts at the enterprise level and have never programmed Cisco routers or similar, we do have a deep knowledge of the UniFi product line and can bring an initial level of product expertise to the table and to maybe help to set up proof of concept networks. We are also networked with many other organizations that bring enterprise experience to the table.
Non-profits
A non-profit is similar to a small or medium sized business in many ways, except for their budget. Most non-profits make due with less, so that they can focus on their core mission. This means that the idea of investing a fair amount of money in new Network equipment, Camera Security, or Access Control is usually way down the list of needs.
UniFiCT grew out of 18 years of experience in the non-profit field, so we have made do with enhancing the network infrastructure one piece of equipment at a time or through the utilization of grants to purchase new solutions.
UniFiCT is very experienced with both the Connecticut and Federal Nonprofit Security Grant Programs. If new grants come out for 2025, we can work with your organization to identify ways you may qualify to upgrade your architecture and provide a deeper level of security for vulnerable populations.
Churches
Houses of Worship of different religions and denominations can all leverage the affordable and easily managed solutions from UniFi. If you are a Connecticut Church, UniFi can work with your staff or volunteer boards to outline ways you can protect your congregation of exterior threats or to provide better WiFi access to your congregants.
With the UniFi Access system, it becomes very easy to implement robust key control systems for staff, lay leaders, volunteers, congregants or visitors. You do this by removing the keys! By pairing an Access system with the UniFi Protect line of cameras and intercoms, a solution is developed to allow the office staff to manage access to the building both locally as well as remotely.
Camps
It used to be enough to drop your kids off at a summer camp and trust that everything would be fine and that they would enjoy the beautiful outdoors without need of any electronic gadgets.
However, camps now need top notch WiFi for their offices and staff as well as for the different cloud-based solutions that they may use for their services. Many camps do not have a robust fiber network among buildings so it can be very helpful to install a number of Point to Point Wireless Devices to provide internet over long distances.
Also, from a security standpoint, the world is a different and more scary place these days. The UniFi line of Protect Camera solutions as well as Access Control security systems allows the camp to keep an eye on all the precious bundles of joy that have been entrusted to them and possibly even provide viewing areas for parents to access a secure method of seeing their child each day. Doors and Gates can be protected with key fob, card access or facial recognition to keep visitors in check and give the staff access to areas based on their responsibilities.
